democracy is a relic but more than that it is a slave to capitalism.

Capitalism is using democracy as the vehicle or flag bearer to spread its less than "democratic" mantra.

It IS the best anyone has come up with, yet the US has Bush and we have Blair (and, worse than that, Prescott as no. 2). It is an outdated institution, diluted because EVERYONE is allowed to vote (with a few noteable exceptions). Very few people vote other than on party lines in the UK and I am sure the same applies in the US. Thus, in any constituency, you could have the very BEST Conservative in the country standing against the very WORST Labour candidate, yet if it was a safe Labour seat the latter would get elected. It is about time we started having some sort of intellectual test before anyone is allowed to vote. In the UK you don't even have to speak English!!
