an ingrown toenail is when the top sides of the toenail start to grow inward, causing some people alot of pain. My mom has them very badly and she has to shape her toenails very round at the end so they dont grow into her toe...i have it, but after the nail gets to a certain length, it doesnt hurt anymore...if you see a foot doctor they can instruct you on how to shape your toenails so they dont dig in, that might be helpful!

When your nails are cut too short and they start growing out, sometimes they grow INTO the skin at the corners instead of growing straight out and over the skin.
You can buy little pads to put under the corners so that you can get relief until they grow over that part and straight out. If you want, you can file the sharp corner of the nail so that it relieves the pressure on your toe, but be careful because once you start a habit of cutting your nails too short, it becomes a chronic problem. Relieve the pain, but let the nail grow out.

IT is on the side of your toenail where you may have cut it too short. Then it grows but grows under the cuticle. You can cure it by soaking small bits of cotton balls in alcohol then pulling cuticles out and stuffing cotton in and wearing it for and hour or so. Do this daily it pulls the cuticle back and allows nail to grow out away from cuticle. Dont cut your nails so short. It hurts way too much especially when it gets bumped or stepped on.

hello,
the nail is growing curved inside skin. It looks like a seraided knife. I had one removed before. When it gets really bad and can't walk time to remove with doc help. Check with doc if it's a fungus causing it. or maybe just heriditary. Mine is.
Good luck
God bless

I know you are not going to believe this but my nail tech gave me a pedicure and removed it for me. It saved me almost $300 (going to the doctor) because it only cost me $15.
