They're made of ink and paper. They're worth less than a penny. If it ever came about that the currency WAS worth more than its face value then it would have to be devalued to bring it back in line.

probably not right now, but if you have some, hang on to them! US doesn't issue them anymore, so they'll probably be worth something some day. Try to keep them in good shape!
