what do you mean it was excellent that is all i have to say but here is a summary of what happend for the season finale last year
Desmond returns with a boat. He claims he has been sailing due West for 2 and half weeks and hoped to be in Fiji but wound up right back on the island. Des makes the statement that they are stuck in a snow globe and that there is nothing left, just the island.

Again, Desmond is also connected to Libby, who gave him the boat. It appears that all the members are somehow familiar with each other before the crash.

We finally get Desmond's back story and who his partner was. Desmond spent time in military prison and was released only to find that the letters he wrote to his love were never delivered. They were intercepted by the father, the powerful man who will play a big part in season three. Back to Des. He begins his race in his sailboat and a violent storm shipwrecks him on the island. Calvin, dressed in a bio suit, drags him into the hatch. From there, Desmond learns of the hatch, the button, the secret kill switch, and told that the outside is contaminated and lethal. Until he follows Calvin, Desmonds hatch partner, and sees him take off his suit and he follows him to a harbor where Desmonds boat is moored. A struggle ensues and Calvin hits his head on a rock and is dead.

Des rushes back to the button but is to late and the counter changes to the strange symbols and everything metal in the room begins to move. After a panic, the counter resumes.

Desmond asks Locke what if he has it backward and the two men in the Pearl, the viewing hatch, are the ones being studied. Locke doesn't believe they seal themselves in the control room and wait for the countdown.

Desmond figures by reading the numbers from the printout that every time a system failure occurs, a plane crashes or boat runs aground. Locke doesn't believe it.

OK, the button hits zero, all heel breaks loose, Desmond uses his key to shut down the system. A high pitch and shaking of the earth occurs throughout the island and then everything stops. Is Locke dead? Desmond? Ecko? Why did Charlie look shocked that Ecko and Locke weren't back yet? A coverup?

To the plan. Sayid, Jin, and Sun set sail to the others camp. On the way they spot a partial statue of a Goliath foot on a pedestal. It looks to be torn away. It reminds me of the Greek Titan, Talos. The foot only had four toes. Perhaps it is the last remianing portion of the MGM lion that was the entrance to the Las Vegas casino.

The gang get captured, Henry walks off a boat, the apparent leader and tells Michael a deal is a deal. He shows him the boat, gives him a heading, and tells him his son Walt is on the boat and for him to leave. Michael and Walt unite and leave as Sawyer, Kate, Hurley, and Jack give him stares. Hurley is set free to tell the rest to never come back there again.

Tom, the bearded man, takes off his beard knowing Kate realizes it is fake. See previous posts when Kate finds theatrical makeup in the other hatch locker room. Henry tells Hurley that Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are going home with them. And that the Others are the good guys......

OK, to my theory. The Grassy Knoll Institute believes the survivors are in a virtual reality laboratory connected together as a battery of tests and experiments are performed on them. Not by the Dharma institute, or Hanso corp, but by aliens.

Remember what Walt told his dad. They aren't what they seem to be. So when Henry says we're the good guys, perhaps it is the opposite.

Henry, as many scientists often do, went into the herd to study the subjects up close and personal. He willingly gets captured, and then begins his tests. He pits Locke against Jack, two alpha males struggling for control. he puts doubt and anger into Lockes mind stating that Jack calls all the shots. he then sends Sayid, Ana, and Charlie on a hunt for the balloon knowing that when they return, they will discover the truth that Henry isn't who he has said he was.

Henry also observes Locke when he gets trapped under the blast door when the button needed to be pushed. He notes that Locke disregards his own safety and instead tells Henry to enter the code instead of helping him. Again, a classical laboratory psych test.

The ultimate test, murder, is given to Michael. He needs to kill Ana and release Henry and then gather up the four specific people and lead them into an ambush. If he does all this, he will be reunited with Walt and set free. Henry watches as Michael kills Ana in cold blood and reels around and acts on instinct and kills Libby.

By using virtual reality, no one is really dying, just have their reality altered by a few flips of a switch. Instead of allowing the herd, (The humans) to commit murder, a very sterile and safe alternative of virtual reality is used. this way, past subjects can be used over and over again.

What? What do I mean by that? Well, if you read several entries ago, I said that season three would reintroduce at least one former castmate and several new members. I figure Shannon will return, adding to the babe factor spoken about several entries ago as well, and perhaps her step brother Boone. I wouldn't be surprised to see them walk out from one of the huts as if nothing has happened.

With the above sequence of events, the virtual reality theory is holding true. All the plane crash survivors are being manipulated and carefully observed by the Dharma Institute who are an alien race of explorers disguised as scientists.

Got a few more points to make, but its late, and work comes early in the morning and its midnight already. Will be adding the Ice Station Zebra scene tomorrow as well as the phone call to Desmonds girl friend. Forgive the spelling errors, I merely powere typed this to get it posted. Will slowly correct the type tomorrow.

Until next season......Get Lost...

The Others released Hurley to go back to the camp. Michael and his son took off on a boat to leave the island(given to them by the others for Michael's betrayal of his 'friends'). Locke, Jack, Kate, and Sawyer were being held captive in the others camp. I think the episode ended with them at the end of the dock while Hurley runs away and Michael boats away.
