Actually, not in the Science Departments at most schools, but I enjoy the Philosophy of Science. That study permits the prepared student to read and think across multiple disciplines. Examples of thinkers I have read in those courses include Norbert Weiner, David Hawkins, and Alfred Whitehead.
I have used Weiner's book The Human Use of Human Beings in coursed taught by the Philosphy Department, Communications Theory, Political Science, and Sociology.

Physics, because it the rules that evrything follows, from atoms to planets to your cars and buildings. other feilds of science would not be possible without deep understanding of physics. how would we be able to possible to do chemistry without understanding the structure of an atom, and its electron distribution. Methods such as n.m.r, mass spectrometry, infra-red spectrometry etc... would be imopossible. Lots of tools used in medicine use similar technics...
when you think of science they are very closely linked. but i enjoy physics the most, some of the stuff like quantum mechanics is very confusing and facinating at the same time

My favorite subject is how the immune system works to protect you from infectious diseases and cancer.
Because the anatomic parts of the immune system are scattered all over the body yet it functions like one organ, my interest has always been how the cells that make up the immune system "know" where to be and how to act to protect you.

My favorite is anatomy and human physiology. Discusses how our body works and functions and even goes into different surgeries and techniques to repair our body and that is always changing with the times.

Astronomy because there is so much that isn't known but the things that are known are so interesting. I love the mystery behind it. Plus who could resist the stars and moon?
