I think there are a lot of brillant players in the game, Jaqcues Kallis, Mnr. Cricket, Rahul Dravid, Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Makaya Ntini.... The list just goes on and on, you should ask a more specific question like who is the best all rounder, the best bowler, the best fielder, something like that....

old times it was Viv Richards game that was a treat to watch..... now a days its Ricky Ponting, Sachin, Rahul Dravid who are the all time good players I feel. Dhoni is the rising star in the indian arena ( lets keep a watch on this guy )

I think presently RICKY PONTING is the best cricketer as he is not only winning matches for his team but also have in first position in ICC one day as well as test rankings for about last two months or more.also his team has not lost first position since he has become captain.
