Simply put, education is empowerment and women will be informed with the necessary information to make proper decisions. However, HIV/AIDS is a lifestyle disease and I'm tired of the attention it gets. Most debilitating illnesses are not from lifestyle choices and get nowhere near the media coverage as AIDS. When we give smokers with lung cancer the same sympathy as an AIDS sufferer, I might begin to care.

firstly, its not a gender issue..its not about equality or anything. ANYONE can get HIV. Empowering everyone *should* be the goal.

what is the affect? Hopefully, reduced cases of HIV.

HIV is in the main spread between couples who have unprotected sex. Perhaps look up info about HIV rates in Africa, where women traditionally have less power and HIV and AIDS is at epidemic levels.

But that's all I'm saying I'm not doing your homework/dissertation for you!
