I know I'm not a doctor, but can they not give her some sort of antibiotic? I know that when my daughter was born, they thought she had a strep infection, and they had her on antibiotics for the 1st 48 hours of her life. Surely, if they make antibiotics for a newborn, there is something they can give a 2 month old.
The other thing is to watch it and make sure that it doesn't get significantly worse and turn into something like pnemounia - not likely, but it is slightly possible.
I hope this helps - Good Luck with your little girl.

You have an unusual doctor. Many would prescribe something that probably wouldn't do a thing. He's right... your baby is too young for strong medicine.
FYI doctors don't cure the body of diseases.... the body does. Doctors just prescribe drugs to make you more comfortable while the body does the repairwork. All you can do is make sure the baby is warm and gets plenty of fluids (no cow milk).
'Nuff said?

I have the same situation my daughter is also 2 months and sick. What I have been doing is spraying her nose with saline drops and suctioning out her nose several times a day. That will help the congestion. She should start to feel better in a week.

I hope the doctor at least told you what the baby has. If he/she didn't, go to another doctor. Actually, go to another doctor or child clinic fast. I was born with pneumonia and was getting penicillin shots from day one. That was 50 years ago. Get a second opinion.

my four months old got sick the second day at Daycare; I took him to the doctor and he had an ear infection, a really bad one, 'cause he was congested. They gave him some antibiotics and gave him an expectorant. Take him to the doctor now, don't wait any longer.

Yes! Take her to a clinic immediately where they know how to treat babies. In the meantime, if you don't have a humidifier, take her into the bathroom and turn the shower on hot so she can breathe some moist air--limit your time in there and do it several times a day.

Buy a humidifier and put it in her room while she sleeps. My ped. said that I could give my daughter Infant Tylenol. I have she hasn't had a problem. She had been taking it for about a month now and nothing bad has happened to her.
