Yes, time had a beginning and it will also have an end. Ontologically speaking:

(Ontology (the "science of being") is the study of the most fundamental categories of existence, the elementary (or quintessential – or 5th essence (the unseen anti-sentient essence)) substances or structures out of which the PHYSICAL (thus a branch of metaphysics or that which is above and beyond the natural) universe and its attendant phenomenology emanate. Ontology thus analyses the most general and abstract concepts or distinctions that underlie every more specific description of any phenomenon in the universe, e.g. time, space, matter, process, cause and effect, system.)

The very concept of a universe (unity in diversity) has as its underlying premise an intelligent “BEING” as the impetus of “all things”. That is, Socratic-Aristotelian concpt of the “Grand Unifying Theory” is “Intelligent Design”. The ancients understood that “CHANCE” is merely a mathematical probability quotient. But we so-called “moderns”, in the nadir of arrogance, stand on the shoulders of these giants (i.e. the ancients) and defecate on their heads by postulating the preposterous and daring to attribute such notions to them.

Case in point: the foundational axiom of modern evolutionary theory is the nonsensical notion of “chance” acting as an impetus. CHANCE is NOT CAUSALITY! It is merely the probability quotient for outcomes against causal EVENTS! To quote Mortimer Adler, one of the greatest American Philosophers, There is still a third sense of ‘chance’ in which it means that which happens totally without cause—the absolute spontaneous or fortuitous.” A recent Nobel Laureate (in physics) stated that we “can no longer accept a notion of a singular spontaneous event as the origin of the universe with any intellectual honesty. We must now embrace the notion of “GRADUAL” spontaneous generation???” (Paraphrased). This is an ontological tautology and a classical example of the self-referential absurdity! No all things have their origin in a “BEING” which means everything outside of that BEING is a “BECOMING”.

Now whether or not you call that being Yahweh, Allah, Christ, or Krishna – A pre-and-self-existent being is the only plausible basis of any theory of origins. Modern theory have completely abandoned LOGIC altogether and chosen to embrace mythology (Darwinism) which in fact negates science, not embraces it. It negates all three (four) LAWS of thermal dynamics. It negates several LAWS of physics. It negates many LAWS of probability, combinatorics and logic. It violates many LAWS of biology and genetics and many RULES of ontogeny, phylogeny and taxonomy!

Now I could go into a long dissertation of difference and relations of LAWS, Theories, Postulates (which Darwinian Evolution is AT BEST) axioms, lemmas, premises, consequents and causalities, but I’ll resist that and leave to the reader (the serious intellectuals among you, few that you are). I could write volumes on the flaws of Hegelian phenomenology and a-theistic existentialism and all that follows from them but that would assume a depth of learning in Trivium and Quadrivium that is clearly absent on forums of this kind.

I will only offer this. That ontology and origins are both “Empirical” and “Rational” and atheistic theories are neither (some purport to be one or the other, none both and in fact all are neither). I being a Christian only offer this (to the intellectually honest – not the intellectually arrogant):

Rom 1:18-25
“18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen”
NASU

May GOD give you “eyes to see and Ears to hear”.

P.S.

All of these asinine assertions of the sophomoric neophytes on this forum who keep asserting "it has been proven" or "it's a fact" or "scientifically proven" are LIARS. They don't know the differences between "facts", "proofs", "theories", etc.

Proof is based upon "Empiricism", this is a metaphysical question and can not be proven, only "understood" in terms of hypothetical (syllogistic) "truth-value" and categorical (syllogistic) probability.

It has been proved scientifically that time and place have a beginning. This is said by the great Stephen Hawking who said that place and time did have a beginning.

However, the question that might rise is :
What was before time???

And although this question seems logical, it is not! Because if time was not there, then you cant use the word "before" or "after" because these are the production of TIME that has not been created yet.

I think the solution to this paradox is to assume a Creator that should be some how independent or "above" time and place, and due to this Independence, He was able to create these two dimensions.

A great question! Great thinkers, since the beginning of "time" have wondered about it. Where was time before it got here? Where does it go after it is gone? I once heard a funny saying about time. Goes like this: Time was invented to keep everything from happening at once!
I know that I have not answered your question, but then, nobody else will be able to either.

Time doesn't exist, it is just a creation of particular human beings, therefore if you would like your dilusion to have a begining then yeah it would, that's up to you? If you want to know or learn about time, then you have to completely change your way of thinking. What is time? Ask yourself this. Time isn't numbers or something Physical, time is like a wave it coexist with past and present, it is everything there is nothing that can be looked at as time outside of life spans. Time is space, there is no space it is all full of something. It is continually creating and existing even before it was created it is everything and nothing, for it is simply an energy like the sole, it is unknown and there is not enough information for people to possible think they could acurately answer this question. I think time is like an emotion, time is only real for life, for living beings that believe in time, and therefore it is something that is a construction of their confusion of themselves, they don't have a clue about it, so I guess you would say time is up to humans, because the only type of real "time" is evolutionary time, in which we can be primitive like reptiles, we can be emotional like apes, or we can become something new, from education and care, and evolve to create new types of happiness that we could not even expect ultimately to live acting with the most beneficial actions to live as healthy and happy as we can, once we acheive this then I believe we will be so content we would no longer need to believe in time for it simply wouldn't matter? Therefore I guess I don't believe there is such thing as time just human confusion that lead them to think they don't have enough? Although in saying this, this is only my opinion and it could be completley wrong. Hope this made you think more and helped you to ponder with all different views. Thanks for questioning life.:]

Don't people know by now that time is a created thing? This is proven fact!Time is relative and not even real. It's just a perception of reality. Go to school or read a fn book!!! Then again, I swear alot of teachers are too fn dense to even understand it. To wraped up in their pathetic little bs lives to be real.

I believe that the most usual answer is that Time as we know it did not exist before the Big Bang, so the answer would be: yes, about 12 - 13 billion years ego.

well, i think you mean existance? because time was invented to keep track of it... anyways, no, its impossible, because even before the big bang, something had to exist... its impossible for it not to...and please dont go telling me that there was nothing until God created it, because there was something even if that did happen, there was God, and there was a universe, there could not have been mere nothingness.... but also its impossible for there to be no beginning, because it has to have had a beginning.... a mystery that wiill probably always be left unsolved.

Geeze, I hate it when someone answers that "nobody knows".

Time is the art of keeping track, of measurement.
