I just learned about Quantum interconnectedness (the basics, only) and I am blown away. Well before socrates or Aristotle were born, a philosopher named Parmenides discussed the same basic idea as quantum interconnectedness suggests. We are all one. According to Parmenides, there is no such thing as not being. Everything is everything. you cannot define any object truthfully because once it is described, you are also describing what it is NOT. and there is no such thing as Not Being. He also goes on to say that sensual perception is not the way to understand Truth. It is all in the mind. I can easily correlate his beliefs with the little I know about quantum connectedness (which can only be understood mathematically -in the mind.

You are absolutely right. Quantum physics explains reality very well. We create our reality by our consciousness interacting with the quantum soup. When you start reading Quantum physics you get blown away (as you did) because you can see the coming together of science and the non-physical, the spiritual. Many people can't see it or don't want to. We are all one and we affect each and every other one of us at all times.
Our reality is made up of our consciousness, our thoughts, our beliefs and our emotions. Nothing exists independently of our consciousness.
Beautiful isn't it?
The philosophers of old were not ignorant. They were undoubtedly more enlightened that we are now. Don't forget we had the dark ages when almost all our knowledge was lost.
But we do connect to the cosmic knowledge bank and the knowledge can never really be lost. People access it all the time.
Einstein, remember how he would take a little power nap and then all of a sudden burst forth with all his knowledge? Writers also access it. Many writers say that the whole book is there in a block just waiting for them to write it down.
Thank you for your question.

You are applying philosophy, almost mysticism, to hard science. This will win you enemies in the scientific world but friends in the pseudo-hippy, new-age land. But honestly, what you're talking is hooey; perhaps, though, through your own brand of hooey--for we all practice them--you will reach a place of personal enlightenment and understanding. Your heart appears to be in the right place, you just strike me as looking too hard for a bible, an external answer, a universal truth. Ain't gonna happen.

As a Pagan, I was taught that life is energy and everything is energy so everything is connected. Most major religions and philosophy majors will agree that we are connected by energy, spirit, soul or however you want to describe it.
