they keep you at least one or two nights no matter if your enduced or not...they have to make sure you don't have any reactions and the baby doesn't have any reactions of any concern.

You will have to stay in whilst being INDUCED as you will be on a drip and a monitor. After you have given birth it will depend on the hospital and the time you gave birth. In my local area as long as the birth was normal before 1130 am then you went home that day, after 1130 am you went home the next day.

They will keep you in the hospital because you have to be monitored and you get the Pitocin (the drug they use to induce you) through an IV. Plus, if they don't think the labor is moving along as quickly as it should and they have to break your water, then they have to hook a monitor up to the baby.

i was induced with my second child and wasnt hooked up to an iv drip i had a sweep and a pessary and was allowed to walk around the hospital and my waters broke within about 1 hour, although my sister was booked in to be induced even though they had no beds for her as they were taken up with other mothers to be , they saw her in an examination room , started to induce her with sweeps and things and left her to wait in the waiting room where family wait after 6 hours nothing happened and she was told to go home and come back if contractions started if not then back the next morning to hopefully be induced properly and have a bed to herself to stay in. was very bad experience for her but was allowed home eventually

Good luck if your having this done! :)

I went in for an induction on a Tuesday...they started with the prostaglandin gel up on my cervix...8 hours later they did it again. Kept me in hospital overnight...Wed morning...still no labour...sent me home. (there ws too many women in labour to get to me) I was home about 6 hours, and my water broke...so back to the hospital Wed afternoon...still no labour...Overnight in the hospital again...finally Thrusday morning they had to start a oxytocin drip to start labour becasue my water had broke the day before and they have to deliver a baby within 24 hours after the water breaking or infection can set in. Finally delivered my son Thursday afternoon

They keep you in as if you dont go into labour they will repeat the process and if your not progressing quick enough then they will break your waters and give you x amount of time and if you still dont hurry along they will do a c section

when you get to the hospital they are going to give you an iv. they will give you medicine through this to start your contractions. they will raise the dosage very often as long as you can handle it. you will stay in the hospital to be watched until you give birth and usually another day

Yes, the hospital will keep you there because you will be on an IV and once labor begins it will be active labor.
