Do you let them control you, or do you control them?

That's a deep question. Wives hold all the power and slowly but surely they take control. Ever notice the old guy standing outside the ladies dressing room at the department store holding his wife's purse? See what I mean? They wear you down day after day, night after night till you are completely under their control. I fold the laundry the way she wants it done, I wash the dishes with soap before putting them in the dishwasher, I close the shower curtain after I take a shower even though it makes the room look so small. My God she's getting control. Must fight back. AHHHHHHH

You both have equal rights ..listen neither a woman nor man is not a slave under anyone but when you commit a life together you both have to sacrifice a lot, you should understand and accept each other, try to understand feelings of another also treat them as a person who has equal rights as you, you both have to respect each other and never hurt other persons feeling and please be free to talk from ur mind to ur partner all i can say is just love, accept, understand, forgive and care eachother, if u do like this then you will never feel that you are a slave to ur partner, when u do anything for ur partner never feel u r a slave just do it for him/her with all your love coz thats true love

The only time one becomes a slave to another person even to their own children is when they CHOOSE to become slaves to these people. Service shouldn't be synonymous with slavery but due to cultural norms and wrong partner expectations - people wake up one fine day to find themselves unwitting "slaves" to the people they care about.

I am not a slave to my Husband. I do understand his role in our home as being head of the household and head of our family. I think its really important for our child to see a healthy situation where the father can be in a really positive role w/o there being an overbearing wife, abuse in anyway, and addiction!!!

no, i am not slave. in relationships, i find it necessary to be 60/40.... to me, it's never 50/50... 60% of the time I have needs greater than my partner and he gets 40.... other times, he needs 60% of the time and i get 40..... the balance is the compromise!

I never really thought much about that, my boyfriend really does control me.
I never even thought about it before, I guess because people have controlled me my entire life. It's really something to think about.

The concept of slavery should not ever enter in these wonderful constructive relationships. Else, these relationships will deteriorate into destructive ones.
