The parents in my organization (working with children who have a rare genetic disorder) will sometimes have a blog so that they can write how their child is progressing or faring during times of medical crisis. It's a way for them to keep all the friends and family informed without being on the phone with everyone updating all the time. This way, they get on every couple of days... update the blog with the child's progress while the child is sleeping... and no time is taken away from the child to talk to well-meaning friends and family.

Folks can send them words of encouragement and well wishes the same way... and they can read the messages on their own time... it's a great way to stay in touch, but not be intrusive during a difficult time for them.

(Probably not the answer you had in mind, but....) :)

A Blog, (also called Weblog) is your online diary in which you tell what you think about your subject to the world.

Actually, It is a website, buit easier to manage. You do not need to know HTML, to have a webhosting... A child can do it.

You make a "post" about your insigths on a perticular topic, and you share instantly with people from every country on the planet!

It's really easy to set up and it's free: you can have a blog in less than 5 minutes at http://www.blogger.com

You want also to monetize this blog. There is a little bit of controversy all other the Internet about monetizing your blog, but really I think it doesn't heart to pay your bills!

You can monetize your Blog with adsense, and/or affiliates programs (can be find at http://www.clickbank.com).

Bloggers are a big community on the Internet, and people interested in your blog will be able to interact with you and leave their comments on your posts.
