...that us humans always seek out prejudice? If we aren't fighting over skin colour it's religion, or nationality, or sexuality, or gender, and a host of other factors right down to petty things like fashion or neighbourhoods.

Why is this? Thanks!

Its human nature my friend, I guess we always have to find something to argue about or to fight for if we werent discussing these issues and sad as it may seem the world would be a very still place, because there are always people who have different points of view regarding a certain issue and they want to voice their opinion, there is always someone who wants to chnage the way something is, and there is always going to be someone who has an opinion about something thats just the way it is

Human Nature. All those thousands of years of having to compete for limited resources; food, land, shelter etc, it's 'survival of the fittest' at it's most basic, and unfortunately we need to evolve more compassion and tolerance; some of us seem to be more enlightened than others but we've still a long way to go.

territory. If we don't defend our territory we will die out. I'm not saying any kind of prejudice is right, it should be repressable in this day in age, but as a society it seems we still can't help behaving like cavemen and women at times.

Fear, insecurity, ignorance, pettiness, lack of intelligence and the obvious, lack of brain cells, some people either can't or won't see the good in anything or anyone, how very shallow is that.

We need our identities! We need to be different, but we also need to belong to something. So we need to have things like religion, nationality, sexuality, bla bla bla do define who we are. That means that we also need to define (and so judge) others. This causes prejudice.

Partly due to primitive genetic tribal instincts, and learned behaviour at an early age to discriminate against difference.

People tend to be drawn to petty things. I'd guess it's easier than gathering information and reasoning things out. :-)=

because people always like to feel better then their counterparts - they seek out a way inwhich others are different from themselves and therefore feel superior. its dumb.
