No. One of the sure things in life is that at some point, you are definitely going to die. There is NOTHING you or anyone can do about it. Everyone has to do it. If EVERYONE has to do it, good and bad, surely it can't be such a terrible thing? It knows no discrimination, so how could it be a punishment? It might not even hurt, and if it does, it'll be over soon. It could provide a welcome relief, an escape. Me, I see death as a good thing, not to be afraid of. Only instinct makes us afraid of it, and once you can overcome that, you'll see that it's just another stage in life.
I guess everyone is a little scared because we don't want to leave what we love behind. But all things change, and if we lived forever we would soon tire of the world. Don't be afraid of living either, enjoy life and make the most of it. No-one knows how much time we have left so it is best to have a great time NOW and live for the moment. When it's your time to die, it's your time to die. Nothing can change that. It's already decided. Most people live to be a right old age and live full and interesting lives. I don't see why you should be any different.
Talk to someone you feel close to about this. It could be just a phase, but you'll come out on the other side a stronger and more grounded person.
Good luck.

It may be from lots of reasons so I'm just going to do a quick brainstorm - hope 1 of the points help!!
Has anyone died recently that has impacted on you? If yes, you should think about getting some counselling (CRUSE are great), as you might need to look at some of your feelings. However it is a NORMAL grief reaction, so don't worry.
Have you had any relationship or lifestyle changes? Broken up with someone, changed work or schools / years at school - again significant changes can make you panic about death and dying - all normal!!
Anyone been talking to you about religion / God or heaven / hell?? Enough to make anyone worry!! Or would you like to go and check out a church / religion of your choice??
I think everyone hits an age where they worry about death and dying. Unless you are absolutely convinced on what happens when you die, its quite worrying!!!!
Just chill and enjoy life!

Don't think about death and just get on with your everyday tasks, we all know we are going to die one day, so living a life were your scared to die isn't going to help you because i don't mean to sound horrible but that day is going to arrive that is inevitable and its out of every one control, so try and forget about something that its not within your control and enjoy the life you have right now. I mean if you can't sleep because of this issue then you may want to speak to someone you trust like a close friend ,or if you feel that its affecting you that bad and there is no-one you can talk to try seeking some professional help like a counsellor otherwise y ou will never beable to lead a normal life if you dont deal with these issues first.

To me dying is all just part of life, if you spend all your time scared of the unknown then there isn't much point in being alive in the first place. Dying is a scary prospect because no one knows what happens afterwards but it is inevitable so why worry?! For all we know the after life might rock!
Seriously though, if it troubles you this much you should see someone to talk about it.

I think you need a bit of a mind shift here. Think of life as being a journey so you might as well enjoy it. If you live life to the full and treat people well then with luck your journey will be filled with laughter, friends and love plus some interesting experiences.
The choice is yours. Perhaps instaed of losing sleep over dying sometime you would be better to direct your thoughts to planning your jouney to make it as fun and as long as possible rather than focussing on the destination where we all end up.
What happens after death depends what you think happens after you are dead and if it will be better. Bear in mind that you could be wrong so stick to the certain and concentrate on staying alive for as long as possible.
Life is scary sometimes , but like all rollercoasters it doesn't mean that you should get off!
Good luck

I'm scared of dying in the sense that I have a 3 yaer old daughter and what would she do without me? The actual physicality of dying doesn't bother me really.

You might want to check out some books where the time between lives have been explored through hypnosis. Or talk with a hypnotherapist and explore that time firsthand. There really is nothing to fear, it's part of life. It's not much different than going to sleep each night. Peaceful.

Kiddo, you have a underlying problem that only a psychoanalyst can sort out for you, plus I'm not sure what you are referring to when you mention you are going to die18 years on in life. Have you an illness or a mental depression? If you have then seek help now! before it is to late. However! did you worry about it before you were born? when you were then 'dead' the answer is NOoooo! so why worry now? You say you are young if so, go on and live life to the full! This world is a marvellous place! get out there and enjoy it, love people and they'll love you! Bless you.xxxxx wheeliebin.

Don't waste time worrying about it, sweetheart. You are gonna die eventually so grab each day in case it's your last. I know it's scary but try and imagine something nice when you start panicking. I'm not keen on the idea of dying either because of the fear of "not existing" but it helps that I believe people I love will be with me when I die. Who knows? Maybe dead is just another room with a new life?
