There are perhaps practical limitations to the human imagination. In your scenario (for example) you combined knowledge and experience to concoct an unlikely event (grabbing, black hole, universe, Awe shucks, missed, etc.). It would take a lot of work to imagine a story using zero knowledge and experience like describing colors and sounds you have never seen or heard and materials that share zero properties with objects you are familiar with. There would be far less common words for description. That said, there is little limit to your imagination combining all that you know to obtain really strange results. Perhaps you could write some interesting Sci Fi?

Yes, there is a limit on what you can imagine. The reason is that you can only imagine up to the extend of your exposures. Your imagination has always a baseline. In your example, you have mentioned about giants holding the earth. If you dont have a baseline knowledge about giants and earth, do you think you can conjure up such imagination?

Yes, there is a limit to the imagination. Human beings cannot imagine anything about the fourth dimension. Try imagining an alien life form which doesn't have a face or a hand or anything to do with the life forms seen here.

Really like your question, im gonna think bout that one next time im stoned.
Answer to our question, NO, dont think there is a limit, cause you can always imagine more, think bigger, wider. If there are limits to the imagination, i think the world would come to a halt... I mean, if there is nothing more to imagine, then there wont be new ideas, If there are no new ideas, then how do you go beyond that?

Try this:
Imagine you're walking around a 6-dimensional space.
Can't do it. We can represent any number of dimensions mathematically, but our cognitive apparatus is limited to 3D space (and lower, but not higher).
We're evolved creatures with limitations. While we can probably endlessly generate new "imaginings", there are also limits on our cognitive abilities.

The imagination is as vast as the universe
It's as wild as the universe with as much mystery as the universe-
You can travel the universe in a blink of an eye but how much of the universe is seen in the eye-close your eyes, open your heart and discover just how vast your imagination is ;)

There are absolutely no limitations on the imagination except for limits that you give yourself. If you just let yourself go, you can do, say, have, imagine anything your little heart desires.
However, if it's illegal, I would strongly suggest not acting on it!
Let loose, and go wild, and stop worrying that pretty little head of yours!
