me and him were pretty close, but he cheated on me more than 20 times. most of these people were mutual friends. he knew that i had been hurt before emotionally and physically. he denied cheating after we broke up and later confessed but never apologized. we haven't had any contact for a good 5 months.

If he cheated that many time with mutual friends, I'd simply avoid the potential for further heartache. Accept the apology, but not have much to do with him. Forgiveness helps the heart, but throwing yourself back under the bus doesn't.

Absolutely not. If someone hurts you once that is not your fault, it is if you let them do it again and again - DON'T BE A DOORMAT. I really don't see the point of being "friends" with someone like that, especially if you have relationship history with them. He has admitted he cheated on you and you should trust your instinct of not contacting him - if you were sure it was a great idea to speak again you wouldn't have posted this question.

Does he deserve your friendship? Did you deserve what he done to you?
When it comes to cheating, there may be a forgive, but there is no way to forget if you really loved that person.
I say your just in for more heartache and he probably feels your easy prey.
Go with your instinct, but I say NO WAY!

If he really wants to apologize, it is very ok...If you accept his apologizes, that does not mean you should be again with him...Just friends...This way, you 2 can meet on the street or in a store without looking strange one to another...I think it is a nice thought of him but just to be friends...not lovers again ;)... Good luck

No he's just trying to beg you to take him back because he knows you'll let him and soon as he's bored with you he'll dump you for the next flavor of the month. Move on with your life.

If you can forgive and try to trust, give it a go.

If you think he's no longer worth trusting again... that's another path. Friendship requires a modicum of trust, one way or the other, you know.

the main suitable reaction isn't any reaction. enable him say notwithstanding he desires to assert to make himself sense greater like a 'guy'. for sure u see that he's a low life. If he retains contacting u, substitute ur variety/digital mail.

His apology means nothing, the damage is done and you've moved on. Why open old wounds?

it would be ok to be friends with him just do not go back with him because if he did it more then 20 times he is going to do it again. you deserve so much better.
