i apologise for any offence as far as i am aware it is just the chinese govenrment that doesent like japan what i would like to know is which country should i visit first to avoid offending the chinese gov

They aren't going to give a crap about it either way. Go to either one. I mean, think about it: People fly all over the world from both China and Japan. Do you think they sit and pout when they hear someone is going to Japan? (MONEY-wise though, I would start with China because you WILL spend more in Japan) Oh, and Japan doesn't like China that much either....

Go to Japan, and then instead of China I'd like to recommend Taiwan. It's much safer, less crowded and you could get there from Japan without causing offense to the Taiwanese. Japan has good relations with Taiwan.
If you want to go to China, then I don't see why you can't fly from Tokyo to Beijing. Just make sure you get a Chinese visa from their embassy first. You WILL need it.

I don't understand what difference it makes. If you're worried about entering Japan from a flight from China I'm sure people do that everyday. It's nice that you don't want to offend, but it's your trip, you go wherever you want to go first.

Obviously you don't get it. No matter what you do, you're going to cause offense to Chinese people. It's okay. It's a society in which everyone is offensive to each other.
I would worry more about offending Japanese people, because they might actually take it to heart.

For God's sake, why is everyone always worried about "offending" someone?
Go where ever YOU want to go first...if someone is offended by a flight pattern, they need help.
Personally, I would not go to China...but that's me, they offend me by being communist.
