Stanley Kubrick is the best Director of the last century hands down-way better than Speilburg and everyone else. I think any of his films would be an easy nomination. My personal fav is A clockwork orange. You just have to remember that this guy (Kubrick) took years where most directors take a month or two to make a movie, he actually had people doing over 150 takes for one scene to make it perfect. His version of the shining, although not like stephen kings book, is fantastic and has no errors at all-also Full metal Jacket-and AI was his idea until he died and Speilburg ruined it.

Lagaan bcoz it's a movie of lifetime. Films like Lagaan are made only once in the history of Indian Cinema. Cheers to Lagaan and hats off to Aamir Khan. This khan surely rocks.
