Having believed that Cuba & America were 'sworn enemies', and Cuba was a communist state (that believed everyone should be equal, and treated the same, etc) why do they allow America to run and operate 'Guantanamo Bay' which basically goes against everything Cuba believes in.

Guantanamo is under perpetual lease to the United States, so as long as the US sends rent cheques to the government of Cuba, the US has a valid internationally recognised claim to that part of Cuba.

One interesting aspect of this relationship is that Cuba almost never cashes the rent cheques that the US sends. However, the first rent cheque received by Castro's government was cashed. This is what the US uses to claim that Cuba officially recognises the US presence there.

The Guantanamo Bay area of Cuba is actually owned by the USA on a very long term agreement between the two countries that cannot be revoked. Therefore, they have no jurisdiction of what happens at Guantanemo Bay

They don't have any choice in the matter. As for what goes on there, just another example of America having a place where they do not have to live up to their public image of a caring country. Because American Laws do not apply they treat people as less than animals and think it's ok. Hypocrites through and through.

Actually, Guantanamo is the site of an incredible US government scientific experiment that broadcasts hypnotic waves to cloud Cubans' minds and make them forget that Guantanamo is even there.

Cubans wandering too close to Guantanamo have been known to immediately drop to the ground, assume the fetal position and begin sucking their thumbs for periods reaching up to as long as 15 years.

They do not have a choice. We got that the base for helping them defeat Mexico during the Spanish American war.

We got it in exchange for helping the Cubans win independence from Spain. I'm sure the Cubans would love to storm the gates and seize control of it. But I'm also sure they know what a major crap kicking they'd get if they ever tried.
