If you are going for a long time, then leave the car at home and get the train to Troon. There is a taxi rank inside the station, and they will take you to the terminal.

I have done that many times when I used to go on the Seacat to Belfast from Troon.

there is a carpark at the first terminal which is stena, but i think its short stay only. you'd be best to scout about the town to look for a suitable place to park. on the premondae facing the tiolets there is an italian chippy ask inside wheres a good safe and free place to park
