I'm going to the US, (Kansas City airport), I have a machine readable passport. As I understand it, if I have ever been arrested AND / OR received convictions, I am not eligable for the visa waiver program, and must apply for a visa. This means taking a copy of my record to the US embassy in London, then waiting anything upto 16 weeks.
I can't wait that long.
So, does anyone know, if I don't declare my convictions, is there any way that the immigration people at the airport will be able to bring up my convictions on the screen? I've been arrested 3 times, and I received 2 cautions and a fine. This was over 6 years ago.

When I touch down in KC, and they check my passport, will it show up on some screen that I have lied? Or will I be ok?

No spam posts please.... I need to know a definate answer.

Why can't you wait that long? What are you running from? Why didn't you plan ahead? What are you thinking?

You will get caught. You will be detained and deported. Add 1 more charge to your growing list of convictions... but this time it will be a Federal Conviction. Way to go. We don't need you here!

Definitely take heed to what I say! Be totally honest about everything and go about it the proper way. Declare your convictions, wait the time, and come over with the knowledge that you did the right thing and won't have to worry anymore once you get here. You DO NOT want to risk it and possibly end up in a legal nightmare halfway around the world.

If you can't play by the rules, you can be sure we don't want you in this country!

The security at KCI has really been beefed up in the last few years. Have you never heard of a computer? Don't you think EVERYTHING you've done won't show up in the readout?

They won't be nice when they catch your law-breaking, illegal-alien a$$ out there. The beauty of KC is they have an immigration office right in town so they can send you packing right away.

You foreigners gotta learn to play by OUR rules when you want to come to OUR COUNTRY!!

My brother works for them, all that stuff is in the interpol computer. If you do not declare you can be immediately deported and blocked from ever returning to the USA again. He catches about a dozen a week. If your didn't do felony violent crimes then you will probably not be in the system. Since you only got cautions and a fine, it doesn't sound like your a serial killer or other felon. Don't sweat it.

I am from Kansas City,MO. & I will tell you this, since the airlines are up to date with their equipment, you might not be flying. Really you need to find out if the US will even let you enter the country and it really depends on what you did and when you did it.
Just be honest about everything or you'll get kicked out quick.

You better do things right, otherwise you will chalk up another arrest to your criminal record.
