Like grams and kilograms, tonnes gave rise to a (now obsolete) force unit of the same name: 1 tonne-force = 9.80665 kilonewtons (kN), a unit also often called simply "tonne" or "metric ton" without identifying it as a unit of force. Note that it is only the tonne as a unit of mass which is accepted for use with SI; the tonne-force or metric ton-force is not acceptable for use with SI.

RE:
How to convert kN to tonnes?

Theoretically, the conversion is not possible as kN is a unit of force, while ton is a unit of mass.
However, if you are talking about the force which a mass of 1 ton exerts in kN, it actually depends on where in the universe you are talking about, as the acceleration due to gravity varies with location. For example, the force exerted by a mass of 1 ton on the surface of Jupiter would be different from that 100km above the atmosphere of the Earth.

metaraison your answer is in pound not kg.I think you got your conversion wrong. 22000 pounds equal 10 tons. 1kg equals 9.81N but usually we use as a rough guide 1kg equals 10Newton. Therefore 10kN is equal 1 ton. Your answer should be roughly 10 ton which is the answer given by the first guy who answered.
