I would have to go with Jodie Marsh or Paris Hilton and pointless thing mmmm.....probably those china figurine ornament things that clutter up some peoples houses. All they do is give you stuff to dust and who needs that!
My nan's house was full of such tat that would collect dust and get knocked over on a regular basis by my grandad clonking around with his artificial leg (which used to make me and my brothers laugh, as he would always swear and curse the things afterwards).

Person: As a character, not a person - Mickey from Eastenders!!! He's hardly ever there, and when he is he has terrible storylines and nothing worth saying! And Paris Hilton - as a person. What a pointless celeb!!!! What did she ever even do!!??
Thing: Apparatus for smoking while SCUBA diving. They tell you to NEVER NEVER smoke if you are a diver, so why invent something that means you can smoke while diving!???? And fashion. Why can't people just be allowed to wear what is comfy without being ridiculed? Why should we NOT walk around naked in 50ºc temperatures??
And I have to disagree with the dog nappies - if you have a female, they bleed quite a lot during menstruation, and it avoids dirtying the house... Soz!!
