The main thing I came away with was learning to breath, as you get angry you tend to tense up (of course) but by doing this you are not aware of your breathing and it slows down considerably over normal. So your brain is starting to starve, and slow down. Anyway one of the other things was warning signs such as tightening in the neck and shoulders, gripping the steering wheel so hard your knuckles whiten...etc. So when you see you are tensing up you need to take some deep breaths and see if it helps.

I had a short one (it lasted about an hour) but the lady basically said that its normal to get angry sometimes and its healthy to express your anger. You should express your anger however makes you feel better, whether this is by hitting a pillow, closing the door to your room and yelling into a pillow, exercising, drawing etc. You just should not express your anger by endangering yourself (ie reckless driving) or the people around you.

They teach you how to internalize your anger and deflect it away from third parties. The first half of the course was going over laws and discussing why and how acting out in certain ways will land you in hot water with the police. Following that, they taught coping mechanisms, like how to not take things personally, and how to sluff off bad reactions and negativity in public. Then, they teach you to have a personal alone space to go when you need to release, and they suggested screaming into a pillow or getting a punching bag. Honestly, THE COURSE DID NOT HELP ME A GOD DAMN BIT BECAUSE right noW im getting FuC*****G Angry JUSt talking to your RETARDED BUTT! Why the HELL are you ASKING ME THIS
Sorry have to go

what I learned-
1)Anger is a secondary emotion. Anger is covering up something else like wounded pride, hurt, fear, something
2) when you are very angry about a small thing the thing is not the issue. you are using the small thing to express anger about something you don't feel comfortable talking about.
