This is more for our American answerers. I live in the U.K. and have been into the American car scene for a few years. In my time I've owned a '79 Firebird , a '76 Corvette and a '87 Camaro Z28 Iroc Z. I've had to sell my Camaro as the price of petrol in the U.K. is ridiculous. Anyway back to the question :- Is it true that G.M have stopped making the Camaro (and also the Firebird) ??

last year they were made was in 02 and 08 is when the new retro camaro comes out

Yes, they stopped producing them a few years ago, but currently have plans for a new retro Camaro in '08. They aren't saying 'Firebird', but Pontiac is being repositioned as a RWD only performance division. Therefore, there must be something on that platform for the pontiac crowd. We'll all have to wait and see!

The Camaro has not been made for years, but I have recently heard that Chevrolet is planning on bring the Camaro back into production.
I do not know if their plans may have changed with the increase in gas (petrol) prices.

Chevrolet is bringing back the Camaro due to the over whelming response of it at the Detriot Auto Show. The vehicle will be made in Canada and is due out in 2009 but Chevrolet is trying to push its debut to 2008.

Yeah mate, the camaro has been dead for a few years, but good news it's coming back in a couple of years. General Motors announced the other day that it would be back.

gm has a horrible business plan. yes they do not make the camaro or the firebird anymore. there is talk about a '08 camaro being produced but on a limited basis.

GM stopped manufacturing them. I saw a pic of a new Camaro they will be building in, I think 09. It looks alot like a 69

because you requested about the Mustang and Camaro...... i have owned both and fashionable the Mustang. nevertheless have the Mustang. in case you ever desire the backseat for something, the Camaro is surely consumer UN-pleasant. there is motives GM mandatory bailing out and Ford did not. ..
