Oh dear, you did not pay much attention in geography classes, did you?

There are 7 continents in the world: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and Antarctica.

Although the USA are often referred to as "America", that's only a short for "The United States of America". It's not the same as the continent America. The USA, Mexico, Canada and a few more countries are in North America. Brazil, Argentina and quite a lot of other countries are in South America.

I suggest you go to the following website and learn some geography. They've got maps to show you the continents and the countries.

America is sometimes referred to when speaking about the united states of America, but as you know there is a continent called America, and in that continent, there are countries like the US and Canada which are in north America, and the countries that are located in the south of this continent like Brazil and Argentina are referred to as south Americans.

London gloid--America is not a country you retard. North America is a continent, Central America is a continent, and South America is a continent. America is NOT a country--the United States is, and is often called "America", but that's innaccurate. Brazil and Argentina are on the continent of South America. Canada, the United States, and Mexico are located on the North American continent.

The continent was named long before the USofA. The United States of America is a part of the continent North America (as is Canada and Mexico). Then there is Central America (below Mexico, which has a few countries contained within). And Lastly South America which has many countries.

America is the name of the whole continent, from Canada to
Terra Del fuego. The continent is divided in 3:

NORTH AMERICA(US, Canada and Mexico).

CENTRAL AMERICA(Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Pa)

SOUTH AMERICA(Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela)

That being said, it is not politically correct to say that people that are born in the United States of America are "Americans", because if you think again, Brazilians, Mexicans and anybody else born in any of the 3 Americas, are also Americans.
