Main sequence stars brighten over their lifetimes. Currently the sun is about 40% more luminous than it was at the time of the Earth's formation. In one billion years (this number is a bit uncertain) ,prior to entering its red giant phase in about 5 billion years, it will be hot enough to evaporate most of the Earth's oceans. This will generate a significant greenhouse effect and water vapor is susceptible to photolysis by UV. The split off hydrogen escapes from the earth leaving it waterless after a few hundred million more years. Sometime around then, life will become very difficult on this planet unless the planet is moved further from the Sun or we erect orbiting sun shields or something.

The solar receives too warmth in about 3 billion years. The extra pessimistic diagnosis do not account for the Earth climate moderating itself for the duration of its existence span. The dim earth paradox exhibits detrimental feedbacks. the quantity of available albedo probably pushes that to three billion years. If it makes it longer, it will be incinerated through about 5 billion years even as it turns right into a pink commonly used.
