have you ever tried spreding jam onto cream? its not easy cos the jam is denser than the cream. Spread the jam on first then put a dollup of cream on the top, it is by far the easiest and least messy way, and the order does not effect the taste after all lol

Er, if its to spread on the scones it has to be jam first - you can't spread jam on top of cream.
Make tea, leave to brew in teapot.
Cut hot scones in half, spread a light layer of good quality jam, add the whipped/beaten cream.
Serve on attractive tray :)

cream then jam so the cream can cool off your tea a bit and putting on te jam just gives you enough time for the tea to cool off so you can enjoy everything about your meal. =)
