I had my house built a year ago and have had to replace my door bell twice. Once in awhile the door bell button will stick or something and my door chime inside will sit there and buzz until it burns up. I have tried 2 different buttons and both did the same thing. Could it be another problem?

A better quality of button should solve your problems. I have rung a lot of doorbells in my 40 years in appliance repair and have noticed many buttons stick. The better quality buttons not only do not stick but also actually complete the circuit to ring the bell on the first try.

It is better to spend a little more on a good quality button than to need to replace the bell assembly every half year or so.

Looks like you have -
- a very "cheap" bell button (likely plastic), and
- located at the weather side of your house (rain & sun blast)
Get a more expensive metal type, build a small "roof" or flashing on top of it, put a drop of 3-in-1 oil on the button from time to time.

Not likley as the current and voltage are low in domestic door bells. Most likely cause is the button gets stuck due to grime build up because it open to the elements and in some cases insects, its unlikely due to metal fatigue or contact pitting.try another make of switch

no the only way to complete the circiut it to hold the button in. you need to spend good money on a real expensive button. or get a door knocker
