Hello!! :o) What you're going through is VERY common. You might be suffering from something called, 'anticipatory anxiety'. That's when we worry about what MIGHT happen. This causes many people to shy away from trying new things and meeting new people. But like any other phobia - the way through it is one step at a time. We often become overwhelmed by something because we 'see' it in it's entirety. In other words - even before we have met that 'someone new' - we are already worried about WHO will come to the wedding!! The best way to meet new people is in a group setting. [Like a church or club] That way - you don't have to become too deeply involved with any one person. And if there is someone you fancy - then you can see how other people respond to them. [i.e. are they liked by others, etc.?!] Good luck!! And just take one day at a time. Craig!! :o)

When we think about the future we are wandering into the unknown. It is quite usual to have a fear of the unknown. We cannot predict the future, and if you keep a record of your worries about the future you will find that none of them come to pass.
The way past this problem is to get your mind centred on the here and now. Say to yourself, truthfully, right here, right now, I am OK. Start telling yourself about all the things that you can see, especially the things that give you pleasure, like a bird or butterfly, or an animal. Get your mind working so that it becomes full of what is happening right now. Right now I am typing on the keyboard, occasionally glancing through the window at the beautiful green grass, and thinking how can I help this distressed person. Right now I am breathing in. Right now I am breathing out.
Get the idea?
When our mind begins to wander into the unknown, bring it back to where we are and what we are doing now. Concentrate totally on what you are doing now, and if you are doing nothing, then do something.
With regards to meeting new people, remember that we never meet someone by coincidence. There is always some unknown reason why this other person is here and now at the same time and place that we are. Every new person we meet has a message for us, if only we are open enough to receive it. Listen hard to every word they say, and carefully watch their movements. Stay in the here and now.
I hope this helps a little. Good luck

A lot of people have anxiety like you described. I know exactly what you are talking about, too.

Listen, make a doctor's appointment and tell your doctor. Don't be embarrased, this is very common and your doctor has no doubt heard many patients before you describe the same feelings.

They may be able to write you a prescription for some anti-anxiety medication. This will help tremendously.

Based on your other questions you have posed here, you should be afraid, you have a very altered state of reality, someone really screwed with your brain growing up. Perhaps you should stick to meeting people in your church, I assume you have one since you are so obsessed over the Bible.

Don't worry the end is near, and you will be able to repent all your sins!
