The trolley rides are breath-taking.

I've taken a speed boat ride under the Golden Gate bridge!

Actually, yes I have done both.

Years ago I went with a group of teachers representing our state to the National Education Association's annual meeting in San Francisco which are always at the Fourth of July holiday time of the year, and we stayed at the Mark Hopkins Hotel. Not only did I ride the Cable Car, I used to take them to meeting places around Nob Hill and points around San Francisco. So, basically, I used to take the Cable Cars "to work".

I also worked for a company in San Jose, California (Silicon Valley) in later years and many times would have to go to Northern California by crossing the Golden Gate and also the Oakland Bay bridges going to and from parts of northern California and back to the Bay Area.
Crossing the Golden Gate Bridge though never became a "routine"...you'd approach it from a distance and see it in all it's splendor. Then you'd start to drive across it and I'd hurt my neck trying to look all around at the sites around San Francisco Bay and then looking up to see the structure itself was truly amazing every time I crossed it.

When I flew down to help my fiancee move to Texas, he gave me a tour of San Francisco, and I did indeed see the trolleys, but did not get to ride one.

And Yes, we did cross the Golden Gate Bridge in our truck. To his amusement, I stuck my head out the window like a dog, and gawked.

I wanted to walk across it, but we had no time to do it, and he could not understand why I would want to do such a thing.

yes done both it is the most fun to catch the trolley to all places near the fisherman's wharf and the drive to GG is very nice specially sometimes when the clouds come down in the middle of the day... I roll down the windows just to catch the feeling of clouds in the car and the smell of it, sadly I found out there is no smell but it is wet and cold to feel it is a nice feeling to catch the cloud and hold a part of it in your palms!
Hey Mojo do you live in San Francisco ? if you do you are real lucky person!

Yes, I have done both. I don't really like the trolly cars much though. They can be really crowded, and you have to hang on like mad to keep from falling off when they rush up and down hills. For easy transportation, I like the Muni Metro. It's only $1.25 and takes you all over the city.
