I don't really hate my job I just can't stand rude people and those that have like $500 worth of food stamp purchase then have another order which is nothing but expensive calognes and CD's..

Let's put it this way: I've never had a non-rude encounter with a WalMart employee. I go somewhere else. I wouldn't buy a newspaper at WalFart.

I was also a cashier at Wal-Mart, and people will do anything they think they can get away with. Like grown adults taking food from the deli eating it in the store and leaving the containers on shelves, so they don't have to pay for it. We've all had moment where we, as customers, leave a bag or don't have enough money, that's a given. What I don't understand is why people do things in a retail store that they wouldn't dare do at home. I had this lady watch me the entire time, just to make sure I didn't overcharge her while her kids were throwing everything off my shelves. Then I forget her coupons and she gets into this huge huff about how she has to wait in line and she's already late. I didn't tell her off, I just gave her a blank look, and she stormed off.
I was actually quite glad that I was fired from Wal-Mart in the end.

None rude to me, but friends say I am very intimidating so that may be a small part of the reason. I have had a cashier somehow mess up and not ring up items such as a large bag of cat food, milk, coffee and various items so that when I'm expecting to pay around $46, it comes up being $18 lol
Of course they got some of that back when I last bought the 8 piece fried chicken and got nothing but a bunch of batter dipped bones that had all the meat removed. Literally wasn't enough meat on all 8 pieces to even make half a sandwich.

Hope you feel better know! Yes most of the clerks are rude and act like they are doing you a favor. Also most don't speak English at the Wal Mart in our area. I don't shop there anymore at all. I guess they are like you and hate their jobs. And the customers that they HAVE to wait on.

Yeah when I visited America, one gross cashier burped at my face and I called the manager to fire him. It worked! You know, his burp smelled like rotten, spoiled eggs. It was a very horrible moment in Walmart in my entire life!

If you do not like dealing with cashiers use the self checkouts, then if you screw up you have nobody to blame but yourself.
Cashiers have a thankless job so be patient with them, they are doing their best in most cases.
