You are going to have to do your own market research -- this is time consuming.

Start with the Wiki entry (below). Then go the the US and EU Customs statistics of imports and exports (you'll have to find out the Brussels Tariff Nomenclature, and decide whether the statistics are specific enough for you).

Contact the trade associations, and the exporters who will be glad to give you whatever statistics they have. They certainly want new markets.

Get the annual reports of the companies that sell specialty soaps. go to department stores and shops and talk to the sales personnel and interview the customers.

Eventually you will get a picture of the market, and its potential. I used to do this professionally. It takes a couple of weeks to draft a good market research report. Maybe less now that so much is available free on the Internet.

In the United States I would say the market for products such as this are already saturated. This doesn't mean new launches will fail, but to succeed I would venture that the product in question would need to have some unique pull.

Even in stores such as Walmart or Target are now full of "handmade" boutique items.

Good Luck
