yes quite easily once youve created a fantasy universe you can develop whatever type of story you like, romance, crime, comedy, etc, being in a fantasy universe allows that bit more creativity, i personally hate romance novels, but a romance novel set in a world of feuding orcs and goblins might just appeal.

I think so- for instance, 'THE SONG OF ICE AND FIRE' by George Martin is not a 'quest' per se- at least major quests don't make up the major element. Its about a bunch of kindgoms warring against each other with the back drop of doomsday.

A fantasy is an extension of our real lives & as we have hopes & dreams which we always strive to fulfil, a fantasy will be empty w/out a quest.

Yes... but would it still be engaging?
It depends on your definition of quest. In some way every book has a quest in it. Some are just not 'epic' enough to be called quest.

im afraid not. how are the people suposed to meet ogres and the like without a quest? and besides people associate fantasy with quests. any fantasy story without a quest would not be appealing to the public and no1 would put it in print for u.

Yep. Tons of fantasy books out there without the typical must-get-thing, travel-with-party crap that I so loathe. Lots and lots--these have pretty much comprised the majority of fiction I've read in the last ten years....

YEAH, sexual fantasy of course... but just thinking about that for a moment , its great to think about it, but if you write a book about it , it could go 2 ways, 1= its a best seller, and 2= you could be laughed at.Best of luck.
