4 - 5 - 1 or more precisely, 4 - 1 - 2 - 2 - 1
GK
Petr Cech
Backfour
Ashley Cole
Paulo Ferreira or Khalid Boulharouz
Ricardo Carvalho
John Terry
Holding midfielder
Claude Makelele
Midfielders
Michael Ballack or Michael Essien
Frank Lampard
Wingers
Jole Cole
Arjen Robben
Lone Striker
Andriyv Shevchenko or Didier Drogba
Same formation that won them their past 2 championships.
Solid defense and quick counterattacks.
Both Sheva and Drogba have operated as lone strikers before and have proved they are up to it.
Chelsea's strength is always in their midfielders. This season, they have Michael Ballack to team up with Frank Lampard. With Makelele cleaning up behind them, they are free to roam forward to support the attack. This will work for them.

4-3-3
Lampard, Ballack and Makelele in midfield. Sheva upfront with Cole and Robben in support. Cole and Robben to drop back when defending to become a 4-5-1.
Sorry Drogba, no place for you in the 1st 11.

i reckon they should let ballack and lampard plus shevchenko to come up in the offensive position
essien can handle midfield with the help of the other 2 boys
remember they neen points and points are scores i want to see all the new signings kicking liverpool's butt

WELL THE FORMATION THAT WILL HELP CHELSEA IS TO GO BACK TO WING PLAY AND GIVE THE BALLS TO SHEVY THRU THE WING INSTEAD OF TRYING TO KICK THE BALL FAR FROM THE MIDFIELD OR THE BACK; THEN CHELSEA NEEDS TO BE PLAYING TWO DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER; IF CHELSEA IS PLAYING LIVERPOOL THEY NEED ONE STRIKER THEN NO WING PLAY AND THE SHOULD CHOKE-UP THE MIDFIELD; THIS ARE MY OPTIONS; THEN FOR THE PLAYERS I THINK BALACK WILL STILL BE VERY RELEVANT TO CHELSEA HIMK AND LAMPARD SHOULD BE SWERVING POSITIONS FROM 8 (SUPPORTING SRIKER) TO 10 (ATTACKING MIDFIELDER) THEY WILL UNDERSTAND THEMSELVES BETTER;
SUMMARY:
PLAY MORE OF BALACK /LAMPARD (8/10)
PLAY MAKALELE WITH ESSIEN
PLAY LESS OF DROGBA WITH SHEVY BUT AS SUB
PLAY MORE OF KALLOUN AND ROBBEN FROM THE WINGS LES OF WRIGHT
MORE OF MICKEL FROM SUB
LET GALLAS BE PLAYING 5 & 6 WITH TERRY
LET CALVAHO PLAY 2 - RIGHT BACK THEN THE BACK WILL BE SOLID.
