I do not wish to sound unsympathetic to this case, but would like to be assured that if the MP is CHOSING to do the work of social services.... that he is not going to claim expences for his trip. I believe he is a rich man, so good for him trying to help one single familly but my suspicious mind is questioning if this more about a Labour MP wanting a little publicity!

MP was going to Pakistan anyway to visit the areas affected by an earthquake last year. He has also been a friend of the family (of the missing girl) for many years and is perhaps using his possition to help them. News reports this morning say he has talked to the girl and she is ready to talk to her mother, so some good has come of ot at least. I agree that there must be some kind of publicity seeking going on, but from his POV it is a golden opportunity to get some media attention and help at the same time. Which MP would turn it down????

Its good he is bringing publicity to the issue. If he didnt then people would say he SHOULD go.

Its not a holiday so why would you expect him to pay for the trip?
