Well said old chap, well said

They're ruining the great competition that is the premier league. Some Russian crook comes in, buys them a few titles, he could have done that with Rotherham, but they're still Rotherham .... and Chelsea are still Chelsea, no one takes them seriously, theyve got no history, they're just this decades Lazio, desperately seeking European domination, which won't happen!

Hopefully Roman will get bored soon, or get shot or something, I dunno, either way, and it'll be a great day for the prem when that happens, all that will be left is this small club way out of their depth, with 20 players on 135k a week contracts, I will laugh at the end of all this sordid affair, when Chelsea implode

They're scum!

P.S- for people who say NO, look at Real Madrid and Man Utd. Ok, firstly Real Madrid had presidents who collected forwards, and so they could never have a balanced side because all they did was bought strikers. Man Utd, rich, yes, but can't afford to spend money like 17m on Mutu, then sack him, 14m on Veron loan him out for years, 18m on Crespo, loan him out, 21m SWP not play him, etc etc Chelsea HAVE BOUGHT SUCCESS

No, not really, money dont buy success. Real Madrid had the money but for the last three years they dint win a trophy! Look at Man U, they have the money as well. I think its about managing the players and playing gud football, be it attacking or defensive. Probably the game is becoming more strategic. Since they are winning every one are wants to blame that they are winning because of money. Look Boro beat Chelsea, let everyone beat them if they could. Probably the football should speak rather than blaming!

I don't know what it's like to grow up elsewhere and to witness the evolution of the sport of soccer business. But here in the states, the players have demanded so much money that individual or family owned teams are rare. It now takes a media giant or some other big business to own and operate a team in order to remain competitive on the field and the business world.

Personally, although I may understand it, I don't agree with the fact that so much money is required to win. It takes the sport out of sports.

What I particularly resent is how teams here in the U.S. use the threat of relocation to get their home city to fund new stadiums, and then charge for personal seat licenses for the right to purchase season tickets. I love sports, but I rarely attend games any longer.

No they are all at it. Chelsea have just taken it to a different level. All teams try and buy what they perceive to be the best they can afford, take Gretna FC who have bought promotion and have very little support or historical success before the present regime took over, they have outspent every team in the lower divisions in Scotland by a mile and will be playing in the SPL next season. There is not a team playing at a professional level that has produced all its own players. I would welcome a chairman at my club who would buy us silverware.

its no different than the usa using all the top nba stars in the 92 olympics in the basketball. nobody stood a chance and they won, but they were within the guidelines. english football chairmen are loathe to fork out money, but heres a russian/ukrainian ? who has spent more in 3 years than the whole of the premiership in 10 years. don't be suprised if chelsea is the first club to have a fully self funded free football academy in england. abramhovich has put his money where his mouth is. i think he's a genuine person, he built a hospital out of his own pocket for his region back home. he did'nt get to be a billionaire by being lazy or stupid. football needs people like him and george weah.

Jealous! that's all i can say about you guys. Come on get over it will you. It's been 2 seasons and so-let-it-be.

Nobody mentioned about Liverpool, Arsenal or MU spending big bucks buying players when they dominated the league so quit getting on Chelsea. Real Madrid is doing the same thing but they have a banker like Roman A., so? What is the story?
