I was wondering how long after your stop the birth control are you protected against getting pregnant. Like when you start your period are you still protected? even tho ur not on them anymore

You can still fall pregnant while u have your periods. It depends on your cycle and every woman is different. I have 1 child and i fell pregnant within a month of going off control. Be careful!

Most BC pill packs will tell you that if you miss TWO pills/days in a row, to call your doctor....
Plus they will tell you that if you plan to go off the pill to get pregnant; to use other protection for 2-3 months AFTER stopping the pill; so you have time to rid the body of ALL the chemicals.....Soooooo seems safe to say you run the risk of getting pregnant within a few days of stopping the pill; and those first few months, it's a BIG risk to have a baby with medical problems....

You're only protected if you take pills. The day after you stop taking them, you're no longer protected.

i would say a month or two...but that's my opinion...
you should definitly ask your doctor, since everyone is so different...
