Riders who are NOT stupid..who DO wear full gear, even in the heat, actually don't even care anymore, bcz they say these dumb ones are thinning out the gene pool--- by playing with their mortality so brazenly. FACT: There are only 2 kinds of riders: 1. Those who have not 'gone down' (crashed) & 2.Those who HAVE. Sad but true. The saddest thing is a ('squid') rider who will take another rider with him & not gear her (or him) up too! I saw one girl (who went for a ride with one of these stupid guys) and she had no FINGERNAILS left! (after grabbing the freeway for 40 feet!)..STUPID STUPID STUPID..."but it was Hooooooooottt!" How hot is it now with all the bandages?

They're called SQUIDS, and they all think that somehow they're "special" and that if they're careful enough, nothing can happen to them. Or they think that since they survived falling off their bicycle that it's the same on a motorcycle.
SQUID= Stupid, Quick and Inevitably Dead. I'd say go ahead and let them die, but too often they take someone else out with them and make the rest of us look bad.

As long as you are smarter than the rest, just be thankful for that. This has been a bad year, in Ohio that I know of, biker after biker losing their life. All most all of them wearing no helmet. I see numb-nuts all the time screaming down the highway in shorts, no shirt, and no helmet. I ride and you won't catch me without a helmet. If it is hot out you may catch me without my leather, but I will be in blue jeans and a shirt. You also will not catch me on the freeway, people just don't pay enough attention to bikers for me to get out there. You can find a nice quiet back road that goes anywhere, you want to go (where I live anyway).

Because many of them are young and feel invincible; they don't think the odds or even fool-hearty behavior will catch up with them. Rest assured that stupidity is not confined to the sport bike crowd. There's lots of other things going on where people are doing dumb things and resigning from the human race. If they weren't doing dumb things on sport bikes they would probably be playing dodge the semi truck on the freeway.

Because guys in their early twenties think they are bullet proof. Just like my kid mountain biking in a competition in Colorado, ate it good. Broke three ribs, leg and arm, plus concussion. Needless to say, he doesn't ride them anymore.
