The light emitted from the light bulb travels until it hits an object then it is either absorbed by the object or reflected by the object or reimitted by the object. If nothing gets in its way light can travel forever. Light from the most distant parts of the universe is only just now reaching us after travelling for billions of years through space. The light in your living room is absorbed into the walls and furniture of your house and is converted into heat. Light travels so quickly that as soon as you turn off the light, the room goes dark.

When you turn off the light in you living room it goes no where the source of the supply stops going to the light bulb which means the light is no longer in action

A light bulb merely transferes electrical energy into light and heat energy (and poss' a little bit of sound energy). When the circuit is complete, energy flows through the components and the bulb changes electrical energy etc and you see light! Wa hay! If you flick the switch, break the circuit, then the bulb (component) stops transfering electrical energy to heat/light etc as there isnt any being supplied. Law of physics...energy cant be made or destroyed, only changed from one form to another. So when you flick that switch, more energy transfers take place. Most is absorbed into the surroundings.
....however...an alternate explanation is that it slid off to the fridge for a binge and beer fest. If you check, I can guarentee it will be there...;)

When you flip that little switch the wires disconnect that complete the circuit for the electrical power and the light bulb cools off! Then the power meter slows down and less $$$ go to the power company. So then you have more $$$ to spend elsewhere.

Back to where it came from energy!
It dissipitates. If it was the same
energy every time the light was
turned then energy would never
get used up and our hydro bills
would never be too high! too bad
that it gets used up and when we
turn the light on we are using more
energy.. It may be the same bulb
but the energy is fresh from the
current when you turn iton.

Well, if the light is off then it's not going anywhere. When the light is on I am not sure. I can't comment on what happens to light once it is combined with other sources of light.

it dun go anywhere. when u supply enuff energy, the electrons of atoms surrounding the source becomes excited. Thus, it moves up to a higher energy level. This state is rather unstable. therefore, when it drops back to a lower energy level, it emits radiation in the form of light. so when u off the bulb, electrons dun get excited and so u dun see light.

Latent in the wiring system of your house. It has gone at the speed of 'light' and will re-appear when the switch to your bulb is connected (as long as the bulb's filament is still intact). For more info on light see ref below. . .

It goes only when it come, If light is off it means it is not comming out of bulb, the earlier light particles had already left either for their unknown destinations in space or got absorbed in opaqueness of any body comming its way.

once it is turned off the light stops emittinng. While on, the light will continue in directions in which it was traveling while on; unitl it is either absorbed or redirected.
