Smartness is far more useful. Intelligence is merely the potential for smartness. But smartness is intelligence realized. So, bottom line, which would you rather have -- a million dollars, or the potential to have a million dollars. That's the difference.

I think intelligence is better. Let's take Osama Bin Laden as an example. "...he wasn't a very good student..." as his own teacher stated in a documentary just shown recently, ..."but on the other hand he was smart". Someone who is smart can have very egoistical motivations and limited views....someone who is truly intelligent sees the whole picture.

I'd say smartness. If you are smart then you are intelligent too. if you are intelligent, then you may not necessarily be smart too.

I dont think you can be a thick smart person.

Ive met intelligent people who were very dumb though.

How smart you are is measured by how successful you are in life. How intelligent you are is measured by how many points you score in an IQ test. Me, I'll go for smarts ;P
