It is said 8 hours a day is required*. But it really is dependant on the person. I can sleep for hours and then other times I can get by on half an hour.
* thats is 8 hours for each 24hour period. But 24hours sleep every 4 days doesn't count. Tho you could get much more done if you didn't sleep for 3 days.

I need nine hours for a great night's sleep.. it varies with different people though. I heard that you can tell how much sleep you really need by going to bed at a normal time, and then sleeping until your body wakes you up, without an alarm. Supposedly your body knows how much sleep you need and will wake you up when you are ready.

It s advisable to sleep 8 hrs to give the brain and body some rest of the work done. Its not necessary to sleep in the night .U can sleep even 8Hrs in the day like most doctors,security guards do.Sleep is a critical physiological function , indispensable for intellectual development.

Everyone is different. I need 9 hours due to a mild fatigue syndrome whereas I know people who need as little as 5! The average is 7-8 hours depending on age, activity levels and stress levels. Younger people need more sleep as do those who are very active or those who are stressed and yes school does count as a stressor.

That could range from 5-8 hrs.8hrs sleep is considered sound. If one is sleeping lesser, he will become more n more cautious and may suffer from hallucination.If one is sleeping a lot, he will become lethargy.The duration of less or more vary from person to person.
