I understand that you are only fertile a couple of days before you ovulate and a day after. I know that sperm can survive upto 5 days. So if I had sex a week before I ovulated, I wouldn't likely be pregnant because all sperm should be dead by then right? Please ease my troubled mind. I do know I ovulated this week as my boobs are crazy sore, but I just don't think it was possible, doesn't add up. what do you think

I'm not using the "method", protection was used. However, the condom got stuck inside me. I do not know how long he was without protection, but he also never ejaculates inside me. So I'm mostly worried about pre-stuff getting me pregnant.

The fertile period around ovulation lasts 6 to 9 days and during this time the couple should not have unprotected sex.

The rhythm method is not a reliable way to prevent pregnancy for most teens. Over the course of 1 year, about 25 out of 100 typical couples who rely on the rhythm method to prevent pregnancy will have an accidental pregnancy.

Hopefully you are not pregnant now, but you should really start using protection. The rhythm method does not protect you from STDs.

Since you had sex a week before you ovulated. You will not get pregnant the chances are really low, since the sperm can only live up to 48 hrs however you can't be sure of it until you miss your period.

not likely. if you did have some fertile cirvical mucus that could help the spermies get to thier goal. but not likely if you had sex a week before ovulation. and spermies (just FYI) can live in fertile CM (cervical mucus) for up to 6 days, not 5. that is only in the best CM and in the right conditions..... my vote is no, but take a test around period time just to be sure

7 days before and 7 days after a period is you safe days, closer to your period ending is the best day to not get pregnant as sperm does live in the body for normally 3 days, so if you had sex on day 4 or before then you are safe any other day will require an pregnancy test or morning after pill.

Hope this helps.
