Whoever said trick her in her sleep is a moron, and trying to get you put in jail for rape even if it is your wife. Her suggestion is against the law if your wife wants to prosecute. It also would show a lack of love and respect for your wife.
Not a good idea.
Talk to your wife and tell her it is and has been a fantasy of yours for a very long time. Tell her that you will make it as painless as possible and that she may even enjoy it.
But also promise her that if once you start penetration and it is unbearable to her that you WILL STOP. And that you will use a lot of lubrication.
Also know that once you have even slightly penetrated her trying for anal, that you CAN NOT stop and then penetrate her vaginally. It can cause a lot of infections.

Try watching adult films. This is to make her realize that anal sex is okey. Get her opinion on anal sex right after. Tell her truthfully about your desire to do it.
