I think I want to be both rich and happy at the same time. It is possible. But if I can choose only one, I would rather choose happiness as I like money because it gives me happiness.

I can answer you according to my current condition...being happy would suit me just fine. I could live the rest of my life simply, I don't need to have everything.
The problem is, in my pursuit of the American style of life, I worked up quite a large amount of debt from school. Then instead of settling into a job at home, I went to teach English in Japan, not for money, but for the happy part. Unfortunately, I'Ve been doing it too long. It will be hard to pay off my student loan debt at my current level of income. So unfortunately, just being content will not be an option for me for several more years, assuming no other financial crisis that makes it many more years.
Don't you just love the American way of life...

if i had to choose... i would obviously go for happiness cos somehow being rich would not guarantee your happiness. yeah you might be able to own everything but does that mean you are happy? not really. other than that when you are happy you would not mind or care about anything else cos you already appreciate what you have got... money is not everything... though it does seem good to have a lot of money especially in this time... but happiness is everything!

I would rather be happy, since you don't really need to be rich to be happy. There are also studies showing that the level of happiness between rich people and people making less income is very similar, so it really doesn't matter if you're rich, as long as you're not overwhelmingly poor.

To be quite honest, I have both. The money situation makes me happy because i never have to stress about anything such as bills, clothes, etc.... and i have a great man. So id say both is nice. How can you truly be a happy person with someone if alls you do if stress about money, ive been there. But ive got it both ways so i cant imagine.

I think money and happiness are not at all related as many of us assume.
Happiness is state, in one sense, having no worries. You can have worries in any state. Whether you have money or not, it doesn't matter. As long as you have desire for something you will worry and there will be no happiness. Money is not a cause for not having happiness.
So you can have money and happiness and also you can't have both money and happiness.

i would choose happy
money doesnt necessarily buy happiness,
but without money i would be miserable so in order for this choice to work out right i would have to be INSANE first.
conclusion: insanity = happiness
