1.(a) f(2)=5-2(2)
f(2)=5+4
f(2)=9

(b) f(1)=5-2(1)
f(1)=5-2
f(1)=3

2.(a)Moscow -7
(b)tempt difference =
(c)

3 (a) x(3x+2)-(2x+4)
3x^2+2x-4
3x^2-4

(b) 3ap+6p^2
p(3a+6p)

(c) (y-2)2=25
on expansion, 2y-4=25
2y=25+4
2y=29
divide through by 2
2y/2=29/2
y=14.5

4. (a) Let the money=X
Angela (A) receives 1/2
Ben (B) receives 1/3
Charles (C) receives Remainder
Since C received Rs.100 which happens to be 1/3 of the Money,
1/3ofX=100,then X=3*100=300
i.e X=300
Angela receives 1/2of 300=150
A=150

(b) X=1/2+1/3+C
300=150+100+C
300=250+C
subtract 250 from both sides
300-250=250-250+C
C=50

3x2-8
b)3ap-6p2
3p(a-2p)
c)(y-2)2=25
y-2=5 (Square on the r.h.s. becomes root on l.h.s.)
y=7

4 let the total sum be x.
if 1/3 of x=100 then,
x= 300.
so angela recieved 1/2 of 300=150
and charles got 300-(150+100)=50
