Do you find a show or sitcom more entertaining when it is more about plot comedy, where the funny things are what happen in the plot. or funny and witty lines within the show.

Witty writing, for sure!
My husband calls the other kind "a 3's Company situation". This means that the characters are in an awkward situation that could have been avoided and now have to juggle all these crazy factors just to get things straight again...and ultimately end up losing out or getting caught.
When we watch sitcoms and see that it's heading in that direction, we usually change the channel. Those are just sooo predictable.
I've noticed shows like Frasier and Ellen do both, but the writing is so good it makes their zany predicament interesting.
Golden Girls is beyond compare because that show was basically just them sitting and talking and it was HILARIOUS!
And Seinfeld was great because they actually DID get themselves into off the wall situations, but their banter was a work of art!
