We thought about a Jesse Jackson Day, but golly, he is still alive, so Reverand King did have a dream...

By the way, I find it hard to believe we can label a religous leader as anything but a religous leader whom are not supposed to seek riches for themselves.

Dear Real_Truth,

Dr. Martin Luther King has contributed a tremendous amount to our society and culture, and he is recognized for that. You don't have to celebrate the day personally if you choose not to- but i don't think holidays are determined by whether it "does something for you personally or not." Heck i celebrate Chinese New Years because i'm Chinese but i don't expect other people to celebrate it- but that doesn't mean it gets removed from the Calendar. It would be like hey let's elimnate Labor Day because someone is unemployed.

I don't share your opinion about Dr. King but that's the great thing about America- you have the freedom of belief.

you must not be black or at least not care about freedom for everyone. are you saying capitalism is better than socialism? look how many poor people there are because of capitalism. are you rich?
