Actually it isn't as much to see how they were resolved, but to check for questions that have not been resolved. These questions are usually left to rot - "In Voting". This is the only opportunity for you to vote on your own answers, if nobody has bothered to vote on them, it is the only chance you got to salvage or score a "best answer" if you haven't had one in a while. Its one of the loop-holes they haven't fixed yet about this place.

Also, if you happen to find a question that that nobody else but you have answered, and it ends up "in Voting" the only way you're gonna score that 10 points is if someone actually votes that you get it, well so far I've found only three of those for myself, and since nobody has voted on it in more than a week, I may as well vote for myself since I did post an answer, when nobody else would.
Its only a true democratic vote, if there are more answers and individuals actively posting votes on answers they are deciding for themselves as a best answer.

I usually get 2 or 3 "best answers" per week and I revisit those questions to see if I like someone else's answer more than mine. I don't usually try to vote on my own answer unless I really think it's the best one. Points have no cash value or college credit, so what do I care? It's either about asking good questions and giving good answers or it's a game like any other game and cheating takes the fun out of it.
Just my opinion.

Everything gets closed eventually. I like to see how the voting is going.

Often,
I have always given a "good answer" click to replies I like even if they are not to a question of mine. i don't know if there is any result, I just like to think I am thanking people for their efforts.
